INTRODUCTION
Long Melford is one of Suffolk's most favoured villages and is steeped in history. At its northern end are the greens with a magnificent parish church and two fine Elizabethan country houses, Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall. Its high street is one of the longest in England and contains a wealth of period houses and cottages from early Tudor times through to the Victorian period. The village has a primary school, doctor's surgery and a very useful range of shops including a post office, pharmacy, Co-operative store and a number of interesting galleries, speciality shops and antiques shops. There are a number of public houses and restaurants and delightful walks close by alongside the River Stour and water meadows. Just to the south, is the market town of Sudbury which provides a further good range of shops and amenities, together with a station providing shuttle trains through to the main London and Colchester line with services on to Liverpool Street. To the north is the cathedral town of Bury St. Edmunds with links to the A14 across to Cambridge, Newmarket and the M11.

Southgate Street is a continuation of the main High Street leading through the village and is within level walking distance of all the shops, pubs and amenities. Close by is access to the Long Melford railway walk, a footpath/cycle way that leads right through to Sudbury. Also close by is the River Stour with lovely walks alongside over the meadows.

THE PROPERTY
We believe "The Vines" is a Victorian property built with traditional brick walls, now rendered, under a tiled roof. Today the house has been beautifully upgraded and has a bright and very well presented interior. There is a shaker style kitchen, and modern heated uPVC conservatory and the windows are uPVC double glazed units, with those at the front in traditional sash style. There is on street parking outside and at the rear is a modest but sunny west facing courtyard garden. The already large sitting room has been linked to the dining room by a wide archway creating a very attractive open plan living area. The house has gas fired central heating.
