The Property:

Immaculately refurbished five bedroom detached house in stunning gardens of half an acre with a fabulous decked terrace and heated swimming pool.

Immaculately refurbished both inside and out, this five-bedroom detached house in half an acre of garden certainly has the wow factor. The black and white theme of the exterior continues inside, with black oak floors, white walls, black and white furnishing and sleek monochrome kitchen.
The kitchen and dining space are open plan with bi-fold doors onto the spectacular spacious terrace, which overlooks the heated outdoor swimming pool and large garden. The high-tech kitchen has a substantial island with built-in hob and plenty of space for bar stools, with a separate pantry and utility room. The snug area with sofa and TV makes this an ideal open plan family space, while a partial wall leads to a stylish, airy sitting room with oak floors and another set of bi-folds onto the terrace. A further separate living room, also with bi-folds onto the terrace, provides an alternative to the open plan space. A guest bedroom, bathroom and study complete the substantial ground floor. Upstairs all the four bedrooms have high-spec bathrooms, with the luxurious master suite fitted with a black oak dressing room and steps up to a sumptuous bathroom with stand-alone bath and walk-in shower. This is a home for indoor-outdoor living. The wide, beautifully crafted decked terrace, with stainless steel balustrades giving the impression of being on board a yacht, adds to the extraordinary features that make his house ideal for both family life and entertaining.

The Owners' Story
“Living in this house feels a bit like being on holiday. It's fantastic in the summer, with the barbecue going and lots of kids in the pool. We first saw it on a beautiful summer's day when the pool looked great, even though it was surrounded by crazy paving.

Since we bought it seven years ago we have completely transformed the house. It was a 1970s brick chalet style house, but I knew how I wanted it to look. I was inspired by houses I'd seen in the South of France, crisp white villas with black window frames and surrounded by bright green grass. I'm really proud we've achieved that vision.
We took out internal walls to make it more open plan downstairs and extended above the garage to give us another bedroom. We now have four bedrooms upstairs, all with stylish en suites, a guest bedroom downstairs and a home office that could also be a bedroom. The new kitchen has an island hob so whoever's cooking can still talk to family or guests. We have two sets of bi-fold doors onto the terrace; I love having them all open on a sunny day.

I'm really pleased with how the terrace and garden have turned out, and with the lighting we've put in it looks amazing at night. There's a changing room by the pool and the kids have their own table and chairs down there, while we have a great view from the terrace.”
