“Living in this house feels a bit like being on holiday. It's fantastic in the summer, with the barbecue going and lots of kids in the pool. We first saw it on a beautiful summer's day when the pool looked great, even though it was surrounded by crazy paving.

Since we bought it seven years ago we have completely transformed the house. It was a 1970s brick chalet style house, but I knew how I wanted it to look. I was inspired by houses I'd seen in the South of France, crisp white villas with black window frames and surrounded by bright green grass. I'm really proud we've achieved that vision.
We took out internal walls to make it more open plan downstairs and extended above the garage to give us another bedroom. We now have four bedrooms upstairs, all with stylish en suites, a guest bedroom downstairs and a home office that could also be a bedroom. The new kitchen has an island hob so whoever's cooking can still talk to family or guests. We have two sets of bi-fold doors onto the terrace; I love having them all open on a sunny day.

I'm really pleased with how the terrace and garden have turned out, and with the lighting we've put in it looks amazing at night. There's a changing room by the pool and the kids have their own table and chairs down there, while we have a great view from the terrace.”
