Marshfield is an unspoilt village that is centred around it's High Street that is made up of predominantly period homes and amenities that include the village store, post office, butchers, tea room as well as other local businesses. The primary school was improved a few years ago and offers modern facilities. There is also a choice of public houses within walking distance as well as a GP's surgery. There is also a varied choice of country and leisure pursuits within the region.
Located approximately 8 miles north east of Bath, there is also easy access to the M4 (junction 18). Both Bath and Chippenham offer a comprehensive range of shopping facilities, a number of secondary schools as well as main line rail services that serves London (Paddington).
Entry into this home is via the front door. Reminders of yesteryear are always in eye shot with period features such as sash windows, exposed stone walling, a fireplace and beams. The split-level living space is open plan and stairs lead to the first floor. Originally the kitchen would have been incorporated within the main house, but now is cleverly placed in what was an out building. Approached via a timber and glass walkway with a tiled floor, the Kitchen offers fitted units with a worksurface and space for a tall Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher and a Washing Machine. Skylight Velux style windows allow the light to stream through and there is plenty of space for a comfortable family meal.
Additionally, there is a stone-built room that is separate from the main house which would make an ideal home office. Adjacent is a timber clad outbuilding.
The first floor has the main bedroom. A good size double room with built in wardrobes and a linen cupboard. The Bathroom is located on the first floor too and is fitted with a three-piece white suite that includes a w/c, wash hand basin and panelled bath with a separate shower system.
The top floor has a double bedroom with a Velux style window with ample eavesstorage.
The Rear Garden is low maintenance and arranged with a combination of bark and stone chips, part of which is currently used as a chicken enclosure. The property also benefits from gated pedestrian access at the bottom of the garden.
Parking: there is plenty of on road parking freely available surrounding the property and private garages are available to rent in the village subject to separate negotiation
To fully appreciate the accommodation on offer, an internal viewing is highly recommended.
