Story Makers was built circa 1900 and was extended and renovated circa 1990.  It is situated in a quiet village on the north coast of Caithness.  This detached 5 bedroom property is in walk in condition and really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.  The views out over the Atlantic stretch from Dunnet Head to Orkney's Old Man of Hoy, with open countryside all around.  The property consists of a large kitchen/diner, porch with boot room, utility room, reception room, shower room, self contained annex of a bedroom and bathroom, all on the ground floor.  The first floor comprises of a large lounge with a fully windowed gable wall with panoramic views out to sea, 4 bedrooms, bathroom, en-suite and dressing room.  There is double glazing throughout and oil central heating.  This property has been tastefully decorated in neutral tones and has solid wood internal doors throughout.  Scarfskerry has recently been upgraded to superfast broadband and speeds over 80MB are regularly obtained from the house.

Story Makers would suit a family looking for the peace and tranquility this area has to offer, with the added possibility of extra income from an Air BnB in the annex.  There is also ample outside space to build further holiday accommodation.

Scarfskerry is a coastal village located approximately 12 miles from Thurso and 9 miles from John O' Groats which is along the popular NC500 route. The local primary school is not far from Scarfskerry and a village shop and hotel can be found in the neighbouring village of Mey.  The Castle of Mey and Gardens is only a mile or so away and is a major tourist attraction having belonged to the late HRH The Queen Mother, now belonging to HRH Prince Charles.  Scarfskerry and Harrow harbour are within a short walking distance where seals can be regularly seen on the rocks and out to sea.  Dunnet beach is 5 miles away with it's golden sands and Sealife centre.   Thurso is the most northernly town in the UK and offers all amenities such as doctors surgeries, supermarkets, local traders, caravan and camping site, leisure centre, library, High school and much more.
