I was first attracted to this house by the look of the outside. Having lived in older properties previously, I've always felt drawn towards them.
I loved the cast iron fireplaces and the cellar offers extra storage which is really handy. I also loved the size of the gardens both front and back. The rear garden gets plenty of sun and is also quite private. As we're situated on a hill, you also get some great views, particularly from the bedroom window. You can see right across to the The Downs.
Since being here we've decorated throughout and also double glazed the whole house. We've also capped the chimney and updated the bathroom.
As well as the house itself, we also find the location really handy. Junction 10 is just up the road as is the William Harvey Hospital. There's a bus stop outside with a frequent service to the town and as we're on the outskirts of Ashford, there are some lovely walks nearby.
