The Vendor's View - Church Oast is located at the end of a quiet lane, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are footpaths in all directions from the house, great for dog walking and very safe for children. Despite its rural location, access to supermarkets, schools, motorway and rail links in the nearby towns of Faversham and Sittingbourne are all within a short drive. There is a village shop, a garage/petrol station, and a lovely gastro pub within a mile. The local primary and secondary schools are very good, secondary schools in both Sittingbourne and Faversham are served by a bus from the nearby village of Doddington.

Church Oast has been our family home for the past 17 years, our three children grew up here. What first attracted us to the house was its wonderful welcoming atmosphere. The large kitchen was always the centre of our family life, together with the upstairs living room/library with its wood burner, making for cosy winter evenings. We also loved the exposed beams, high ceilings and the wonderful open entrance hall with its sweeping staircase. The covered patio area at the back of the Oast is great for outdoor entertaining and enjoying the garden during the summer months. The idyllic setting with wonderful views over neighbouring countryside is second to none. The large workspace in the studio is ideal for anybody working from home and utilising the annex for either extended family or use as Airbnb/ holiday accommodation is an additional bonus.

Shortly after moving to Church Oast in 2003 we converted and extended the double garage block to a soundproofed recording studio. We also undertook major repairs to the roof of the main house, the rotating cowls were renovated, all the outside cladding was replaced, we had the property partly re-wired and we insulated the whole building including the eaves. All the timbers were treated and we installed stone flooring in the hall, kitchen and small bathrooms. We purchased extra land from the neighbouring farm, which now forms part of our large garden and we planted around 100 trees on the perimeter over the years.

The garden has been my pride and joy, each year bringing large crops of fruit, paired with my vegetable patch to provide plenty of fresh produce. I will miss living at Church Oast so much, with its wonderful views, tranquillity and the many happy memories it holds – the only reason I am selling is to downsize now our children are grown up.
