AGENTS NOTES In 1886, Brook Rd formed the western boundary of the Bath parliamentary district and exited onto the Lower Bristol Rd slightly further to the east than its current layout (next to what was Twerton East Buildings). The first buildings on Brook Road in the mid 19th century were three terraces on the east side - Dorset Terrace and Sydney Buildings adjacent to the South View Road junction plus Victoria Cottages next to the railway. The remainder of the road dates from 1890 onwards. By 1902, this was the home of Thomas Wells (fireman) with neighbours George Dale (railway servant) and William Portnall (engine driver). As would be expected from the proximity of the GWR line to the road, eighteen of the residents in 1902 worked in some capacity on the railways.
