Location

Rushden underwent a regeneration in recent years, with the aim of making the town centre a more spacious and attractive place to shop and live. In 2011, improvement to the High Street began with regeneration on the Southern gateway and the creation of a town square in the centre of the High Street. Rushden is home to some 29,265 residents and lies on the A6 mid-way between Bedford and Kettering. The southern limits of the town border the county of Bedfordshire, which is home to some of Bedfordshire's most sort after villages and to its north lies the River Nene. The town's industries have also grown as a result and vary from lace making and farming and it is particularly well known for the shoemaking industry, with all its associated trades. Rushden is home to many supermarkets and convenience stores, with the largest being Waitrose and ASDA. The £50 million out of town leisure and shopping centre known as Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre opened in 2017, which has clearly boosted the economy here and a new cinema complex is currently being built on this site. The town has its own local football club - "Rushden & Diamonds FC" which has a modern stadium and is well supported locally. The town also has a rugby club and two local golf courses, all of which are positioned around the outskirts of Rushden.

Situation

Freeman's court is perfectly located on the edge of town at the bottom of Station Road, which is very well placed for shopping; the site lies directly opposite Rushden Splash Pool and only a few minutes walk from the picturesque Spencer Park, with a variety of shops and public houses - all of which are within a five minute walk. Larger supermarkets, such as ASDA, are only a five minute drive away. Rushden has both primary and secondary schools and the independent Harpur Trust school in Bedford is an easy commute, as is Wellingborough School. "The Pemberton Centre" is home to the town's largest leisure and conference centre providing conference rooms, sports hall, gym (and a young person's gym), squash courts and a dance studio. There is also Splash Pool which is situated opposite the development close to the town centre which includes a 25-metre-lane (82 ft) swimming pool with a learner area, beach area and indoor slide. The nearest train stations are at Wellingborough (approx. 4 miles) or Bedford (mainline station - approx 14 miles). Both stations provide prompt, reliable access to London St. Pancras International, with some fast trains reaching their destination in under 60 minutes or less.
