Description

While the Oxford Lifestyle may look very traditional on the outside, with its bay windows, broad, supported eaves and roofed porch, inside you'll find that it's anything but. The master bedroom is more like a luxury hotel suite, stretching the complete depth of the home with a walk through wardrobe and generous en-suite including both bath and walk in shower. The two other bedrooms also boast an en-suite, completing the impressive specification.

Downstairs, the convenience of an integrated garage takes nothing away from the sense of space available. You'll still enjoy a substantial kitchen dining room opening out onto the garden, a handy utility room also with its own garden entrance and a separate lounge.

With the Oxford Lifestyle you can really spoil yourself with a magnificently proportioned and appointed home.

About the Development

Nestled between Pendle Hill and the Forest of Bowland, in the rural Ribble Valley, yet within easy reach of a range of popular towns and cities, Oak Leigh Gardens gives you and your family the very best of both worlds, just like the award winning Heritage Collection homes we're building there.

Combining classic arts and crafts architecture with modern family friendly interiors, these three and four bedroom family homes near Blackburn have so much to offer, including outstanding schools right on your doorstep. Remember, you can reserve your brand new home for just 5% deposit with Help to Buy and we could help you with our Help to Sell Scheme.

Amenities

There is a Co-Op convenience store on the outskirts of Barrow for your day to day needs, with several major supermarkets represented in nearby Clitheroe, including Booths, Aldi and Tesco.

For GPs, the nearest surgery is Whalley Medical Centre (Sat Nav BB7 9SL, call 01254 287100), while dentists can be found at King Street Practice, also in Whalley (Sat Nav bb7 9SW, call 01254 823 221).

Dining

When it comes to dining, the Ribble Valley has a reputation as one of the best places to eat in England. Top of the list is the Michelin starred Northcote at Langho, followed closely by the Assheton Arms, which was named Lancashire Life Dining Pub of the Year. The Inn at Whitewell has also collected a number of awards, while Mitton Hall, The Parkers Arms, the Freemasons at Wiswell and the Millstone at Mellor are all highly recommended.

Closer to home, Barrow hosts The Eagle, The Great Land Chinese, The Dao Siam and the No1 Restaurant and Bar.

Education

When it comes to the very best for your children, you can't ask for more than an Ofsted ‘outstanding' rated village primary school and a choice of ‘outstanding' senior schools. If you have younger children, you can leave the car at home and walk to school at the top rated Barrow Primary, with Whalley CofE Primary and St James' CofE Primary both rated ‘good' as alternatives.

Older pupils have an even better choice, with two ‘outstanding' rated senior schools, St Augustine's RC High and Clitheroe Royal Grammar both within a couple of miles and the ‘good' rated Ribblesdale High just as close. For independent education, the nearby Stonyhurst College is known as one of the finest private schools in England.

Leisure

With so much beautiful countryside right on your doorstep, it will be hard to resist spending your leisure time exploring. The Forest of Bowland lies to the north west and Pendle Hill is even closer to the south east.

Both Clitheroe and Whalley golf courses are close by and offer a challenging round, while more sports, including climbing lessons, can be found at Roefield Leisure Centre.

For evening entertainment, Clitheroe is home to The Grand, which is a 19th Century theatre hosting cinema and stage shows in a 400 seat auditorium. You'll also find a great choice of cinemas and theatres in the surrounding towns.

Shopping

There is a small selection of local independent shops in Whalley, with a larger range available in nearby Clitheroe, including the Swan Courtyard shopping arcade. Clitheroe has held a market since 1200 and this is still a popular destination today, with over 40 stalls available every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and a farmers' market every second Thursday of the month.

For a bigger shopping trip, jump the train to Blackburn, just 15 minutes away, for The Mall, home to all your favourite High Street names, or head to Preston for a choice of modern shopping centres and pedestrianised city centre shopping.

Transport

Situated just off the main A59 Preston Road, within easy reach of the M6 and M65, Oak Leigh Gardens' rural location belies its excellent commuter connections. Whalley is just 1mile away and Clitheroe just 2½miles. Blackburn is just 8miles, Burnley 11miles and both Preston and Manchester are also within easy reach at 16miles and 30miles respectively.

Trains from nearby Whalley station connect to Blackburn in 15minutes and direct to Manchester in just over an hour.
