Property Description

Full description

25 Redlands Lane is a beautiful main door former coach house, completed by L&S Homes in 2016. The main house was built in 1904 by the architect James Miller, perhaps most famous for designing the Turnberry Hotel in Ayrshire. Around 1906 and then in 1910, as Great Western Road gradually became less rural, two adjoining properties were added to complete the Terrace. The coach house would likely have been completed in this time.

In 2016, L&S Homes launched one of the most prestigious residential developments ever to grace Glasgow’s West End, restoring the original houses and coach house to their former splendour and adding a magnificent new apartment building adjacent. It is unquestionably, one of the most sought after developments in the city. An exclusive collection of beautiful, elegant and unique apartments suitable for a wide range of buyers.

The stylish interior of the former coach house extends to; main door entrance, reception hallway with storage off, elegant sitting room/dining room with beautiful box window and an open plan, contemporary kitchen with integrated appliances and breakfast bar. To the rear, there is a double bedroom and shower room with Jack and Jill access to the hall. There is a small shared garden mainly laid to lawn with a decorative border of plants and shrubs. The property also benefits from a private allocated parking space and bike storage. Finally, there is double glazing, sash and casement windows and gas central heating.

Local Area

Kelvinside is an affluent district in the heart of the West End. It is situated north of the River Clyde and is bounded by Broomhill, Dowanhill and Hyndland to the south, with Kelvindale and the River Kelvin to the north. The district boasts some superb large Victorian villa and terraces, along with fantastic new build properties.

Kelvinside is well placed for a number of local shops and amenities, on both Hyndland Road and Byres Road, including cafes, delicatessens, restaurants and bars. The area is extremely popular with families, upsizers and downsizers alike, and there are a number of supermarkets in the area, including Marks & Spencer and Waitrose. Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens are close by, offering green space and walks along the River Kelvin.

A bus service operates on Cleveden Road, Great Western Road and Hyndland Road, and there are railway stations at Kelvindale and Hyndland. There are also good road links to the City Centre, Glasgow International Airport, and beyond.

The area is home to Kelvinside Academy, a private school situated on the corner of Kirklee Road and Bellshaugh Road, and there is also excellent local schooling as well.

From Corum’s office on Hyndland Road, head towards the lights at Great Western Road. Turn right onto Great Western Road, left at the next set of lights onto Kirklee Road, then first left into Redlands Lane. Continue to the top of the lane, passing Kirklee Modern, where the property can be found on the left hand side.
