A beautifully-presented town house set in the wonderful community town of Stroud. The property was built in 1835 using Georgian methods and the accommodation is arranged over four floors. On the ground floor, accommodation comprises a wonderful entrance hallway with original flag stone tiled flooring and wooden stair cases, understairs storage, utility room, downstairs w/c, room for (and listed building consent) a downstairs shower room, storage cupboards, 18' sitting room/bedroom with walk in boiler cupboard/wardrobe. On the first floor is a landing, fitted kitchen and an 18' reception room with open fire. On the second floor is the bathroom with shower over bath, an 18' bedroom and 9' bedroom which was previously the hospital chapel and is now home to a bed which has been converted from the old pew. The top floor has been semi-converted to offer a usable attic space which can be used as a hobby room, office or occasional bedroom with storage. This floor also allows for a view over Stroud towards Rodborough. Windows to the front of the property look over the square outside the Subscription Rooms which is often plays home to performances as well as various market stalls from vegetarian and vegan food to florists. The property benefits from gas central heating and secondary glazing as well as a vast amount of character features throughout from original wooden flooring to original sash windows and 10' high ceilings to open fires. The current vendor has improved the property by installing the gas central heating system, renovating the sash windows and installing the secondary glazing, converting the top floor including electrics.

Stroud town benefits from a variety of local independent shops and stores, art galleries, pubs serving locally supplied beers and ciders and plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to eat and socialise. The wider area has a wide range of shops and amenities, including supermarkets, a hospital, state and private schools, a leisure and sports centre, award winning weekly farmers market and a main line railway station with inter city services travelling to London (Paddington). Cirencester (10 miles), Cheltenham (15 miles) and Swindon (25 miles) are all within comfortable driving distance.

History
In 1833, following a need for a hospital in Stroud to avoid the wounded having long uncomfortable trips to Gloucester, plans were put in place to build a hospital. The build started in 1835 and then opened on September 19th 1836 and in the hospitals first year 408 patients were treated. The hospital was run successfully and amalgamated with the Dispensary to allow for further accommodation in 1854 and by 1855 had treated between 7,000 and 8,000 patients. Following the construction of the Hospital at Trinity Road in Stroud in 1874, this property was then sold for £1910!
