A Rural Town with a Village Atmosphere

Nestling in the north east corner of the county on the banks of the River Rib, Buntingford is one of Hertfordshire’s most desirable market towns.

From its pretty town centre with its Georgian and medieval buildings to its beautiful surrounding countryside, this town offers you all the charm of a rural life with easy access to the facilities that modern living demands.

Built along the roman road that linked Cambridge to London, this ancient market town was first mentioned in history when it was listed as land that belonged to Knights Templar in 1185. In the 18th century it became a principal coaching stop for travellers on the London to York Road and the many local inns served those that passed through, including the diarist Samuel Pepys.

Today Buntingford has become a place where people want to put down roots rather than travel through and a vibrant close community has evolved offering everything for a quality family lifestyle.
