Overview

Beaumont Green

Beaumont Green is a striking development of new homes in Great Blakenham, a village situated less than five miles from Ipswich and within easy reach of Colchester, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.

This collection of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes will appeal to families and commuters looking for a semi-rural lifestyle coupled with the shopping, leisure and public transport facilities offered by a large town. All properties at Beaumont Green are finished to a quality specification and include modern design touches, such as open-plan living areas, some integrated appliances and en suite shower rooms. Externally, all have gardens and come with parking, or garages.

Several well-regarded schools can be found in the local area, including Claydon Primary School. For older students Claydon High School is less than 20 minutes’ walk away and Northgate High School can be reached in just over 10 minutes by car. Colchester Royal Grammar School and Colchester County High School for Girls are regularly voted two of the best schools in the country by A level results and both are around 22 miles from Beaumont Green.

There are a number of retail parks and supermarkets on the outskirts of Ipswich – including a superstore just five minutes’ drive from the development – but shopping in the main is focused around the town centre. There, the Sailmakers and Buttermarket malls are home to a variety of chain and independent stores, as well as a selection of cafés and restaurants. The redeveloped waterfront area, with its fashionable bars and restaurants, is a popular destination for locals and visitors, as is The Saints – St Peters Street and St Nicholas Street – which is known for its boutique and specialist retailers, as well as its vintage and craft market.

Leisure facilities nearby include a recreation ground and children’s play area in Great Blakenham, the 250-acre Orwell Country Park, which is around 20 minutes’ drive away, and Christchurch Park, just over 10 minutes away by car. Whitton Sports and Community Centre, around three miles away, has a gym and offers a range of fitness classes, while Crown Pools in Ipswich has three swimming pools.

The New Wolsey Theatre, the Regent Theatre and the Corn Exchange – all in the centre of town – stage a mixture of drama, family shows, dance, live music and comedy.

Major routes easily accessible from the development include the A12 and the A14. Ipswich train station can be reached in less than 15 minutes by car and from there regular rail services run to Norwich, Peterborough, Colchester, Chelmsford and London Liverpool Street. Stansted Airport is around an hour’s drive away via the A12 and the A120.

About Developer

A REPUTATION YOU CAN RELY ON

Over 60 years of great homes and great service

When it comes to buying your new home it is reassuring to know that you are dealing with one of the most successful companies in the country, with a reputation built on designing and creating fine houses and apartments nationwide backed up with one of the industry’s best after-care services.

In 1946 John and Russell Bell, newly demobbed, joined their father John T. Bell in a small family owned housebuilding business in Newcastle upon Tyne. From the very beginning John T. Bell & Sons, as the new company was called, were determined to break the mould. In the early 1950s Kenneth Bell joined his brothers in the company and new approaches to design layout and finishes were developed. In 1963 John T. Bell & Sons became part of the public corporate scene and the name Bellway evolved.

Continuing growth

Today Bellway is one of Britain’s largest house building companies and is continuing to grow throughout the country. Since its formation, Bellway has built and sold over 100,000 homes catering for first time buyers to more seasoned home buyers and their families. The Group’s rapid growth has turned Bellway into a multi-million pound company, employing over 2,000 people directly and many more sub-contractors. From its original base in Newcastle upon Tyne the Group has expanded in to all regions of the country and is now poised for further growth.

Our homes are designed, built and marketed by local teams operating from regional offices managed and staffed by local people. This allows the company to stay close to its customers and take key decisions about design, build, materials, planning and marketing in response to local and not national demands. A simple point, but one which we believe distinguishes Bellway.
