This estuary includes a functioning sea lock, at the end of the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation - a thirteen-mile long canal. There are a number of walking routes which lead to and from this area, including walking along the sea wall to Maldon and Goldhanger, or following the canal tow path to Beeleigh Falls, Beeleigh and Heybridge.


For something a little different, the Tiptree Tea Room, Museum and Jam shop is around 11 minutes away from Westcombe Park. Learn about the history behind the UK's infamous jam, and the local village of Tiptree, where the product has been made since 1885.


Further leisure attractions can be explored via Chelmsford, at just under a half hour's drive from home, this vibrant town boasts several cinemas, theatres, live music venues, museums and an art gallery.

Transport Links

For commuters, both Witham and Hatfield Peverel train stations can be accessed within around 15 minutes by car.
