Situated in the historic Priory Quarter, Christchurch Priory was given to the town for use as a parish church by Henry VIII after the dissolution in 1540 and is the longest parish church in England. The Priory holds regular services and events and is a popular venue for concerts. Close to the Priory Church are the Red House Museum and Gardens, the Convent Walk and the ruins of the Norman Hall and Christchurch Castle.

Christchurch enjoys a unique location at the confluence of the rivers Stour and Avon and on the shores of its own large natural harbour.
