Education

Heyford Park is host to Oxfordshire’s first all-through free school, which opened in 2013. Heyford Park Free School offers students a personalised learning environment for students from Reception through to Sixth Form, with a maximum of 60 pupils per year group. Small class sizes enable teachers to get to know each of their pupils on a personal level, in turn meaning that they can give each child the guidance and attention they need. The school aims to combine the inclusive community feel of a primary school with the specialist facilities of a secondary school.

The school uses existing, fully refurbished buildings once used by both the RAF and US Air Force, including the stunning Officers Mess, located at the heart of Heyford Park, and the Specialisms Campus.

The Specialisms Campus includes a sprung-floor basketball court, squash courts, football pitches, an athletics track, baseball diamonds, tennis courts and a fitness gym. It also holds a number of classrooms designed for music, design and technology that pupils will use throughout their school life. The Heyford Park Community also has use of this building outside of school hours, and a community internet café will operate from within the building.

The April 2015 Ofsted report gave Heyford Park Free School a ‘good’ rating.
