Energy Spec
All homes at Beechwood Village achieve level 3* of the Code for Sustainable Homes – a national environmental standard for the design and construction of new homes. Code Level 3 represents a 25% improvement in energy efficient in comparison with Building Regulations Parl L, and reduces the running costs of the home.
The code covers categories such as energy and carbon emissions, water usage, building materials used, surface water run-off, waste and pollution.
The homes at Beechwood Village incorporate a solar thermal system which produces hot water for the property. Over the course of 1 year, the system can provide between 60-65% of the property’s hot water requirement. The system is connected to the standard gas fired boiler which will top up the water temperature to ensure it is constant throughout the year.
The properties also benefit from high levels of air tightness and insulation to maximise efficiency, reducing the amount of heating required.
Beechwood Village also boosts a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) which allows any rainfall to be absorbed naturally; reducing the peak flows in any discharge into the drainage system. A swale has also been constructed (a series of undulating grassed landforms) which allow water to pool and then absorb naturally into the ground.
