You don’t even have to visit Perranporth to understand the major attraction of this Cornish village. Just Google a picture of that spectacular beach and you’ll see straight away why the tourists flock. Reen Manor Riding Stables offer horse rides along the beach and sand dunes and there are several surf schools in the area. Dogs are welcome all year round but must be kept on a lead during July and August 9am and 5pm.


Perranporth is centred on St Piran’s Road, where the village centre has a fascinating variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. The long-distance South West Coast Path runs past the village and the main beach is backed by sand dunes which extend nearly a mile inland.


Local tourist attractions include the elegant Lanhydrock House and wild, rugged Bodmin Moor. There is a variety of leisure activities nearby with Perranporth Flying Club, Perranporth Golf Club and Perran Tennis are all under 3 miles away.


The village has its own primary school while for secondary schooling you might go to Truro or up the coast to Newquay. There are Further Education Colleges at Truro and Newquay too.
