The origin of the name 'Kesgrave' is uncertain and appears in the Doomsday Book as Gressegaua, probably meaning grass and grave.
Kesgrave is ideally situated for both Ipswich and Woodbridge (4 miles), A12/A14 interchange (5 miles).
Kesgrave and its neighbouring village of Martlesham Heath have four primary schools, secondary school, several churches, local shops and major superstores. The villages have numerous cycle tracks and footpaths and are served by a bus service to and from Ipswich leaving every ten minutes during peak times.
