Maldon is one of the oldest and most attractive towns in Essex and is steeped in history dating back to the Saxon times. It is located on a hill at the head of the Blackwater Estuary and has a strong nautical tradition.
Maldon is ideally situated, approximately ten miles from the county town of Chelmsford and forty miles from London. There are train stations within six to seven miles of Maldon giving access to Liverpool Street, London.
