    Michael Burkmar MNAEA. Proprietor 
    Following several years at a well-known estate agent in New Milton, Michael joined his father at the family business in 1996, three years after Burkmars doors first opened. Since then, Michael has been responsible for the sale of 100s of properties, with over £250m worth of Lymington property sold in the last 10 years alone. His experience and diplomacy with all stakeholders throughout the property chain gives Michael a huge advantage in getting properties sold at the best price, and in the shortest possible time frames. Despite his determination, Michael is well known for being supportive, sympathetic and discrete, particularly during sensitive transactions, and will always go the extra mile for his clients to ensure he achieves their desired outcomes.Born and raised in Lymington and the New Forest, including attending local Durlston Court school, Michael is now a resident across the county border in Mudeford. A dedicated and proud father of two, Michael and his family enjoy surfing, skiing, paddle-boarding and running together.

    Hugh Dathan - Sales Negotiator
    Born and bred in Lymington and the New Forest area, Hugh joined the Burkmars team in 2019 and quickly became an integral member of the sales team. Following a successful spell at a well-known estate agency in Southbourne, Hugh returned to his Lymington roots, where as a resident, his clients can benefit from his invaluable wealth of local knowledge. Coming from a family of property-obsessed estate agents in the area, Hugh is rapidly making a name for himself in the Lymington property market and firmly giving his family a run for their money with his approachable personality, enthusiasm and determination to provide the best service. Hugh loves the variety that comes with being an estate agent, in which no two days are the same and there's always an opportunity to meet new and interesting people. As a qualified football coach, Hugh remains involved in supporting and playing in the local community; representing several local teams and continuing to coach when needed. As an active sportsman, he can regularly be found on the golf course or tennis courts.

    Steven Forster - Sales Manager
    Following several years of working in insurance and construction, Steven started his estate agency career in 2002, working initially in New Milton & Highcliffe, and then moving to Christchurch, where he honed his estate agency expertise with a reputable agent for over 15 years. Steven took a two and half-year career break to travel the world and mark-off some of his bucket-list, with a few highlights including a trek to Everest Basecamp, travelling the Atacama Desert, making the most of his advanced scuba diving qualifications all over the world including the Galapagos islands and Indonesia, hiking in the Andes and campervanning around New Zealand for four months, before returning to the luxuries of Lymington and joining the Burkmars team in 2020. With many years experience working in estate agency, selling every type of property, from studio flats to waterside homes to large family estates, Steven brings a wealth of knowledge of the conveyancing process and works tirelessly to ensure sales are expertly negotiated for the best market value and successfully pushed through to completion; eliminating the associated stress that often comes with moving. Steven, a Lymington resident since the age of 8 and currently living on Lymington's popular high street, is a keen Southampton FC supporter. He also plays for the local Lymington Town Veterans team, and when he's not enjoying a stroll around Lymington's sea wall, Steven makes the most of the local area's watering holes, with The Chequers Inn and The Angel being firm favourites.

    Ellen Proctor -  Marketing Coordinator
    Ellen's passion has always been property. She made the decision to start a career in estate agency whilst still at school and in 1991 joined a well known local agent. Aside from spending a few years working as a Financial Advisor, earning Financial Planning Certificates, Ellen has remained loyal to the estate agency industry, joining Burkmars in 2010, and can't imagine working in any other profession. With unrivalled exposure to the property buying and selling process over the years, Ellen provides great support to the sales team, whilst ensuring all client-properties are given the best marketing exposure. Having bought, sold and, on occasion, refurbished many local properties, Ellen brings a unique client-focused perspective to her role. With one child at Priestlands School, one at Lymington Juniors and a husband, who she supports with running the local Beavers club, Ellen is a familiar face in the Lymington area. Over the years, she has helped to coordinate Burkmars' sponsorship of local events and also enjoys yoga as well as walking her dogs, Perdie and Brooke.

    Lynn Fitzwilliams -Sales Assistant
    Lynn, a New Forest resident, started her estate agency career in 1993, working at the weekends whilst studying at Brockenhurst College. Over the next few years, Lynn combined her part-time estate agency role with other part-time jobs, studying and travelling. With a flair for property, Lynn moved into a full-time sales negotiator role and spent the following five years with two well-known High Street agents in Lymington. She left the estate agency profession to have two children and has since been an active member of her school's community; fundraising for local and international charities, as well as being involved with her husband's property business, where she advises on interior and design elements of build projects. Lynn is passionate about the Lymington and New Forest area, spending her time on boats, walking the dogs, dealing with teenagers and trying to produce vegetables!Lynn rejoined the profession in 2020, to help Burkmars manage their busy weekend schedule.

    Richard Burkmar - Chairman
    Richard Burkmar, now retired from estate agency, founded Burkmars estate agents in 1993. He handed over the reins to his son, Michael Burkmar in 2020 following a very successful career, in which he built the well-respected brand that it is known today. A local Lymington resident since birth, Richard remains an advisor to the business, to ensure its reputation as an honest and professional estate agency with the utmost integrity is retained.
