    A thriving and cosmopolitan town situated on the banks of the River Wey, Guildford lies just 8 miles outside of the M25 to the South West of London. Strong transport links, a dynamic university, a modern cathedral, two busy and well supported theaters, highly rated schools and miles of surrounding greenbelt countryside make Guildford a perennially popular choice with commuters and families alike.

    In 2013, Guildford was judged by Experian survey to be the luxury shopping capital of the UK and it's easy to see why this might be the case. Even away from the high fashion and specialist jewellers of the High Street the town continues to surprise the visiting shopper though the sheer variety of its retail outlets. There are specialist camera shops, antique dealers and art supplies, book shops, art galleries and candle retailers, cafes, restaurants, food halls and farmer's markets, and a fair number of separate enclosed shopping centres, each with its own distinct atmosphere.

    The town has always been popular with commuters due to its direct rail links to Waterloo (as little as 34 minutes) and access to the A3 and M25. Busy suburban lifestyles of the town centre give way to a patchwork of pretty villages like Shere, Albury, Shamley Green, Cranleigh, Horsley and Peaslake, and protected greenbelt land including the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A huge variety of lifestyles then that appeal to many buyers across all age ranges.

    Although plenty of people living in Guildford commute to London, the town has a variety of local industry too. Major financial services, pharmaceutical, IT and engineering companies have representation in Guildford and the Surrey Research Park on the edge of town now represents a major centre of excellence in technology, science, health and engineering and is widely regarded as the best science park of its kind in the UK. Guildford has also become extremely popular with video game developers - in fact it's referred to by many as the UK's major video gaming hub. Developers such as Electronic Arts and Lionhead Studios have bases in Guildford.
