    The company was first formed in 1990 by the late Henry Adams, who had previously been a partner of another local independent firm, and who had worked alongside many of the farmers in the area for many years. Henry conducted livestock auctions in Chichester as long ago as the 1960's, and brought with him a huge wealth of experience. Pictured are the details of the first property we ever sold. Now with a network of offices across Sussex and into Hampshire and Surrey, we have grown into one of the leading multi discipline firms of estate agents and chartered surveyors in the region.

      Local Villages near Petersfield
      • Selborne Village. The attractive village of Selborne and its beautiful countryside is famous for its association with the eighteenth century naturalist Gilbert White who is recognised as being the first ecologist. The village has a shop/Post Office, primary school and two public houses. A bus service runs through the village to Alton and Petersfield.

      • Steep Village. Perched on wooded slopes known as The Hangers about 1½ miles from Petersfield, Steep has had many famous residents including the poet Edward Thomas and Sir Alec Guinness. The village is also home to the well-know school Bedales, a primary school, church, two public houses one of which is the Harrow Inn, which has remained unchanged for over a century.

      • Buriton Village. This sought after village is just 2miles away from Petersfield and sits adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth Country Park making it very popular area with walkers. The village has a primary school, two pubs, village hall, the church of St. Mary and a large village pond.

      • Rogate. This village and civil parish in West Sussex is situated in the Rother valley just 4 miles to the East of Petersfield. The parish comprises the villages of Rogate and Rake and has two primary schools one in Rogate and one in the village of Rake. Rogate has a small shop with Post Office and public house.

There are a range of sporting facilities including two excellent golf clubs South Petersfield P&P and Petersfield Golf clubs, the Taro leisure centre and the unique open air heated swimming pool adjacent to the Festival Hall. For lovers of nature the 95 acre Petersfield Heath and Lake on the South East side of the town offers a vast area to explore and enjoy.

      Days out. To the South of the town is the Butser Ancient Farm an experimental archaeological site with Iron Age buildings, ancient crops and rare breed animals. At nearby Selborne is Gilbert White's House and The Oates Collection whilst at Chawton is the former home of writer Jane Austin now a museum celebrating her life and works. In the town itself there is The Petersfield Museum and The Physic Garden an award winning recreation of a 17th Century herb garden.

      Shopping. The town offers a cosmopolitan range of shops, restaurants and cafes with most major retailers such as Tesco, Marks & Spencer and Waitrose. There is a large range of independent coffee shops and restaurants, catering for almost every taste and the town square hosts a twice weekly market.

      Schools in Petersfield. One of the major attractions of the area is the world class schools nearby. The Petersfield School is rated as 'outstanding' by Ofsted and Bohunt School at nearby Liphook is one of the top performing state schools in the country. In the private sector, Churcher's College is located in the town, as is Bedales whilst just to the South East is Ditcham Park School.

      Travel Links. The town grew up as a coaching stop part way between Portsmouth and London and today is connected by the A3 trunk road which since the opening of the Hindhead Tunnel in 2012 has made road travel to the capital both easier and much quicker. The town has a railway Station on the main Portsmouth Harbour to London Waterloo line, with trains to London taking just an hour.

      Craig has worked in sales for thirty years and has worked as an Estate Agent in Hampshire since 2006. Since joining Henry Adams in 2012 he fulfilled a senior sales negotiator roles in our Emsworth before being appointed the manager of the Petersfield office. Craig is also a licensed member of The National Association of Estate Agents.

      Born in Kent, Craig has worked in many parts of the UK before moving to Emsworth in 1999 and is married with two grown up sons and a step daughter.

      Kerry is a New Homes Sales Manager based at our Petersfield office.         Petersfield is a rural market town situated within the newly created South Downs National Park within easy reach of both London and the South Coast by both rail and road, especially since the opening of the Hindhead Tunnel in 2012.

        Surrounded by beautiful countryside including to the south the Butser Hill National Nature Reserve within the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, all designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, Petersfield also has its own local Heath of some 95 acres consisting of a pond, woodland and grassland within walking distance of the town.  The Physic Garden in the High Street is a recreation of a 17th century herb garden and is open to the public.

        There are many picturesque villages in the Meon Valley to the west of Petersfield including Hambledon, reputedly the 'cradle of cricket' as their Cricket Club was founded about 1750.

        Selbourne to the north west is famous as home to Gilbert White, the 18th century naturalist and ecologist and is now a museum.
