    Location

    The historic market town of Newmarket is located between the university city of Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border. There is excellent access to the A14 which interconnects to the M11 motorway to London and the A11 to the east.

    There is a train station on the branch line between Cambridge and Ipswich. Cambridge and Whittlesford Parkway offer direct rail lines into London, with Cambridge North Station and the fastest trains taking under one hour. Stansted International Airport is around 40 minutes away.

    Town Information

    Newmarket is a thriving market town and centre of the horseracing industry with many racing institutions including the National Horseracing Museum, National Stud, Tatteralls and the Jockey Club. Globally considered the birthplace of thoroughbred horseracing and home to over 3,500 racehorses, more than 60 horse training stables, and two large racetracks, the Rowley Mile and the July Course which hosts some of the finest horse racing in the world.

    The are many beautiful Grade II listed buildings around the town and the market is on Tuesday's and Saturday's 9am - 3pm with a variety of different stalls, including fruit & veg, cakes, jewellery, flowers and fine food and drinks.

    Newmarket has a wide range of amenities including schools, shops, supermarkets, numerous hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities, including health clubs, a swimming pool and golf club. It is a major business cluster, with annual investment rivalling that of the Cambridge Science Park which is the other major cluster in the region.

    Jeremy Trott -  Director
    Jeremy has been an estate agent for over twenty-four years and started his trade as a trainee sales negotiator in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Within one year he was promoted to the position of valuer, in a busy city centre office in Ipswich, before being promoted again a few years later to become a Branch Manager. Jeremy's first branch was in Bury St Edmunds, but he was later asked to manage the Huntingdon and Cambridge offices as his employer recognised his ability to turn around under performing estate agency branches. 

     Another promotion came in 2008 when Jeremy was offered the position of area manager, starting with four offices in Cambridge and then onto eleven offices across East Anglia. In 2011 Jeremy was offered the opportunity of joining Hockeys as an associate before opening up the Willingham office in 2012 and re-opening the Cambridge office in 2019. After growing up in Linton, Cambridgeshire and having lived in Milton, Swavesey and Over, he now lives in the centre of Cambridge.

    Samantha Moss -  Director
    After being educated at the highly regarded Kimbolton School in Bedfordshire, Samantha was initially employed by Dale Carnegie, but felt that she wanted to work in a fast-paced sales environment, and headed into the estate agency industry at the age of just nineteen. Initially Samantha started out as a sales administrator in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire but after successfully selling houses on an adhoc basis acquired a taste for sales negotiation. Her employer recognised that she had a natural ability and decided to change her position to a full time sales role where she flourished. In 2004 Samantha went on to achieve promotion as a senior sales negotiator after moving to the Cambridge office, where she won recognition as being one of the top banking sales negotiators in East Anglia. Samantha joined Hockeys in 2006 and is now a co-proprietor of the firm.

    Daniel Sumner - Associate Partner
    Daniel grew up in Cambridge and now lives with his family in Burwell, a village he feels very fondly of. He has lived in Burwell for five years and enjoys the wonderful things that the village has to offer including the sense of community spirit. 

    Daniel was previously employed by the UK's largest independent agent for over 10 years as an area partner for Cambridge where he was responsible for looking after one of the biggest agencies in the city.     Dominic Clements -  Sales Manager
    Dominic has been working in estate agency for over ten years. His role at Hockeys is to ensure he carries out accurate research on your home to provide you with a personalised and process driven strategy to help you sell your home for the highest price. He is also responsible for the strategic negotiations between buyer and seller. 

     ''The most enjoyable part of my day-to-day role in estate agency is meeting new people and understanding why they are moving as no two moves are the same. It can be the most exciting experience for some and for others, incredibly emotional. Being able to adapt to every individual and help change people's lives gives you a sense of pride and achievement and that's why I love the job'' 

    He currently lives locally with his wife and little boy Harvey and is expecting a baby girl in February 2023. At the weekend, you will often find him on the golf course or watching his beloved Arsenal play football.

    Dawn Muncaster -  Sales Negotiator
    Dawn has lived in Cambridge and the surrounding villages her whole life, giving her excellent knowledge of the area. 

    She has spent her entire career in customer facing roles and the care industry requiring a high degree of person-centred attention to detail. With a passion for property Dawn has recently joined the Hockey's branch in Newmarket. Her excellent communication and negotiation skills are always on hand to ensure both vendors and buyers are fully informed of progress throughout their transaction.

    Matthew Crissall -  Photographer
    In 2011 Matthew studied Photography, Film & Television at Cambridge Regional College for 3 years. At the end of his final academic year he was awarded 14 Distinctions and 6 Merits as well as achieving awards such as "Best Director and Best Cinematographer".

    Since then, Matthew's skills have grown in his field of expertise, having gained achievements such as 1st Place for a YouTube video editing competition in 2015, becoming a successful contributor for Getty Images and iStockPhoto and reaching a milestone of over 3000 YouTube subscribers, through his short film and video work on his personal YouTube channel.

    In 2021 Matthew was offered the opportunity of joining Hockeys to be their professional Photographer and Videographer. Growing up in the small Cambridgeshire village of Castle Camps, he has since lived in Horseheath, Melbourne and now resides in Haverhill, Suffolk.

    Jodie holds the certificate in mortgage and practice (CeMAP), and a BA (Hons) degree in sports tourism and development. She has recently joined AMAS, offering regulated advice in mortgages and protection. Jodie advises on residential, buy to let and shared ownership/equity mortgages.

    Jodie also specialises in protection products, such as life and critical illness cover, income protection and buildings and content insurance. She prides herself on being friendly, approachable and supporting her clients fully, through every step of their journey.
