    In May 2011 the running of the agency was taken over by Steven Gardner, a former employee of the firm, who has over 22 years experience of the Bradford property market. Inspired by his late Grandfather - E. J Gardner FNAEA, who established an Estate Ageny & Valuers in Brighton & Hove in 1948 - Steven has followed in his footsteps in becoming a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents he also currently studying to gain his AssocRICS qualifaction.

    Priding himself on being a ethical, highly focused property professional with a hands-on approach to the marketing of property. Steven and the firm show a commitment to the business now rarely seen. JI firmly believes that there is no substitute for experience and whilst being professionally qualified is highly relevant and important, these are not necessarily a  reason for success. Steven's successful track record and personal achievements in the property industry over the last 18 years is a strong indictment for why JI will deliver where others may fail.

    Steve has over 23 years experience of the Bradford property market  having started his career with Halifax Estate Agents from leaving school in 2000. He first joined JI & Co in 2003, leaving in 2005 to progress his career and manage an estate agency in Bingley. He returned to JI in may 2011 following his acquisition of the agency from James Ickringill. Steven has been a member of the National Association of Estate Agents for 19 years. He also stands on the committee of the Bradford Association of Estate Agents and Auctioneers of which he is a former president.

    A keen cricketer and footballer, Steve follows Tottenham Hotspur & Bradford City and loves family time with his wife Lucy, daughter Darcy and son Albie.

    Toby Hartley  DipSurvPract MNAEA - Sales Manager
    Toby is our Sales Manager and has worked  within the industry since 2005. He has an excellent grasp of the local market and over the last 17 years has gained a proven track record of sales success within the Aire Valley. He has gained various qualifications including the highly regarded Diploma In Surveying Practice via The University of Reading College of Estate Management and also the National Association Of Estate Agents Technical Award in The Sale Of Residential Property. Toby combines his wealth of estate agency knowledge together with a proactive approach to ensure his client's requirements are met. Toby prides himself in delivering a high level of customer service which is evident in the repeat business he wins and the long term relationships he builds.

    Thomas Smith - MNAEA  - Estate Agency Assistant
    Thomas (Tom) joined JI in September 2021 as an apprentice, working towards a Level 2 qualification in Estate Agency via a Government backed scheme. In October 2022 Tom was awarded this qualification having passed the course with full distinction. He has subsequently studied and passed his Level 3  - Sale of residential property obtaining a Member Status for the National Association of Estate Agents.

     Tom has a real enthusiasm for the job and offers excellent customers service to both buyers and sellers.

    Tom is a keen Rugby Player, playing for local team Bradford & Bingley. He has a passion for cars and driving and also enjoys going to the gym.
