    Finding a property

    The first step is to contact us to provide details about yourself and the accommodation you require, we then search our database for suitable properties for viewing. If not urgent, we log your details so that we can contact you as suitable properties become available. It is wise to start looking about a month before you wish to move, by registering you will then receive notifications when new properties become available matching your criteria.

    Viewings will be arranged at times to suit you, including evenings and weekends, and you will be accompanied by a member of staff, who can give advice and answer any questions you may have.

    Reserving the property

    Once you have decided on a property, you will need to reserve it by paying our referencing fee and returning your application within 48 hours. You should provide all relevant information which includes:

    • Three years' address history
    • Employment details
    • Confirmation of earnings
    • If self-employed evidence of the last three years' account details
    • Current landlord details (if applicable)
    • Your bank account details
    • 2 forms of identification

    Our referencing process is state of the art, you submit your application and payment online. For details on application fees, refer to our fees section on our website.

    A security deposit of usually one and a half month's rental will normally be required. This deposit will be treated in accordance with the Tenancy Deposit Protection regulations, and you will be informed of which protection scheme is utilised. The deposit is held to cover damage, breakages, and any other liabilities under the terms of your tenancy agreement. Please note that under no circumstances can the deposit be used by the tenant to cover rent.

    Tom Kavanagh - Managing Director
    A talented all-round business-man, entrepreneur and Landlord himself, he's in tune with what Landlords are looking for in a Letting agent. 

    Tom has been involved in the property industry since the mid-eighties and in that time has certainly seen the highs and lows, he knows what it takes to succeed in both a difficult and thriving market place. He has numerous industry qualifications which include MARLA (Residential Lettings), CPEA (Residential Estate Agency), DipDEA (Domestic Energy Assessment). He holds a diploma in Green Deal Domestic Advice and during his long and successful career, he has also achieved qualification in CMAP/FPC (Residential Mortgages/Financial Planning). 

    Prior to running his own property related businesses in the area, Tom was a leading Regional Sales Manager for a large nationwide Corporate Estate Agency/Financial Services company. The skills he gained gave him a solid foundation, he was instrumental in setting up 'Henley Financial Services' specialising in residential mortgages. The strong relationships he had built and the knowledge he had gained within the industry led to the setting up of 'Home & Away Estate & Lettings Agents'. 

    Pre-recession, Tom made the bold decision to focus on Residential Lettings, He soon spotted an opportunity to forge links with Taylors Estate Agents and other local Estate Agents, who at the time had no lettings arm. This led to the birth of 'Taylors Lettings Ltd', a brand-new company owned and run by Tom, which under his leadership were soon outperforming local competitors.

    Tom and his passionate team have the knack of letting property down to a fine art, resulting in a company who provide a truly unrivalled service. Tom is highly regarded by his colleagues and staff.

    Ian Mclaughlin - General Manager
    Over 16 years' in the property industry. At the age of 16 he left school and started his career as a Site Engineer before realising at the age of nineteen that property was his niche. He was top of his game at a large Corporate Estate Agency and has worked for large Estate Agency suppliers gaining valuable knowledge in several areas including Tenant Referencing, Software and Processes to name but a few. 

    Over his time, he has seen agencies that do things well and those who are still stuck in the dark ages! The knowledge he brings to the company is extensive and his passion for the industry is unrivalled. Over his time he has built up strong communication skills and a personal belief in great customer service. 

    Living locally, with his wife working at a local High School, and young twins who are soon to start school, he is deeply rooted in the local area. Most his spare time is spent with his family and when he can he finds time to watch, train and compete in several sports.
