Seymours Dorking is headed up by local Directors David Driscoll and Jamie Hynes bringing over 40 years' experience of selling homes throughout the many towns and picturesque villages of the Surrey Hills.

The Dorking office fits perfectly into Seymours' network and neighbours the highly successful Guildford and Cranleigh offices.

At Seymours Dorking we deal with properties of all sizes, from the town centre to the many beautiful surrounding villages. We offer free valuations, help for clients buying and selling property and aim to provide honest advice in all situations, in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

David, who has lived in the area for over 40 years, says "We are committed to providing an excellent level of service. Living in Brockham with a young family I know exactly why the Dorking area is such a wonderful place to live and aim to get that across to anyone looking to buy in the area."

Jamie, who has been an estate agent for 20 years said, "What makes us stand out from the crowd first and foremost is customer care and always being available. We both love what we do and have a passion for finding a solution."

The office is stylish and modern and in planning the design we have incorporated a play area for children to enjoy, plus refreshments are on offer at all times with a warm welcome to everyone.

We are proud to say we have raised over £4,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We are extremely excited to announce that we will now be working with The Brigitte Trust to try to raise awareness and as much money as possible for this wonderful charity.

Property tips for buying
  • paragraph

Buying the right house can be one of the most important decisions that you make - so it's important to get it right.

Here are a few pointers in order to help you find your next dream home.

  • paragraph

    1. A clinical approach
    image cannot be displayed
On the first viewing, try and remain objective and view the property as a building that needs inspecting. Staying one step removed will help you to formulate a balanced view of the property.
  • paragraph

    2. View it, view it and view it again
    image cannot be displayed
What you see on the second and third visit may have escaped your attention the first time around. Not only that, but we would recommend that you try to view a property at different times of the day in order to see the bigger picture.
  • paragraph

    3. Don't leave any stone unturned
    image cannot be displayed
Are there any hairline cracks in the walls or ceiling? If so, make sure you investigate further. Ruling out structural issues from the outset could save you time, money and pain later down the line. Equally, don't be put off the property if you do spot something. A professional opinion will give you peace of mind and may provide you with the power to negotiate on price.
  • paragraph

    4. Make sure it's not a damp squib
    image cannot be displayed
Be wary of damp. Even if you can't see it damp can be present, so keep your nose tuned in for musty smells.
  • paragraph

    5. Get familiar with the property and area
    image cannot be displayed
Spend at least 30 minutes looking around the property and at least 30 minutes walking around the general area. The property might be fantastic but if the general area isn't what you're looking for then walking around the area might help you avoid walking into a mistake.
  • paragraph

    6. Only fools rush in
    image cannot be displayed

Visit the property at rush hour. Is it any different? Is there a build up of traffic at key commuting times? If so, it may influence your decision. Either way, it's best to know as much as you can before you commit.

  • paragraph

    7. Our survey says...
    image cannot be displayed
Make sure you have your prospective property surveyed. A seller doesn't have to tell you about any problems - and they may even try to cover them up. If a survey reveals the worst possible scenario and one that's enough to put you off the property, don't be disheartened. It may have saved you tens of thousands of pounds in the future.
  • paragraph

    8. Use a checklist
    image cannot be displayed
Checklists, like the one here , are a fantastic way in which to make sure you gather as much information as possible from your viewings. Don't be afraid to use them - they may help uncover critical information that could influence your decision.
  • paragraph

    9. Think long-term
    image cannot be displayed
When finding the property of your dreams it's easy to forget to think ahead. It's often worth asking yourself would you be happy living in the property three, four and five years from now - and will this property suit your long-term (and even short-term) plans?
  • paragraph

    10. Find a good mortgage broker
    image cannot be displayed
Once you've found someone who you feel comfortable with, make sure you have a written 'in principle' offer from the start as this can speed things up once you have an offer accepted.

      went above and beyond
Our house move could not have happened if it wasn't for Jamie at Seymours. He went above and beyond what could be expected to get the deal over the line. His willingness to liaise with conveyancers at both ends of the chain was a key factor in exchanging contracts in what was quite a difficult process. His emails and phone calls were always reassuring, even if the news wasn't the best. We really can't thank him enough.

      They were all extremely professional
We needed to move in a tight timeframe and Seymours provided us with reassurance and the confidence that this could happen in the current Brexit climate and they did not fail. We moved exactly when we needed to!David and his team where prompt with getting photos taken and publication onto Rightmove, and immediate viewings.Throughout the rest of the selling process emails where answered rapidly as where all phone calls/messages and enquires, they also provided options for solicitors that they had used and trusted which made the process easier. They were all extremely professional and I would recommend this agency, thank you all very much for making this potentially stressful time smooth sailing!!

      a pleasure working with
I found seymours estate agents very helpful during my recent house purchase, particularly Heather who kept me informed and worked hard to help complete the final stages of the sale. It was a pleasure working with seymours and I would thoroughly recommend them .

      Heather was extremely professional
¿My wife & I had the pleasure of viewing a selection of houses through Heather in the Dorking office. Although vaguely familiar with the area ¿we were in the nervous position of being Londoners trying to make the big move to Surrey, so needed quite a lot of hand holding!!! Heather was extremely professional, organised and very kind and her advice was excellent and although (unfortunately) we didn't find a house through her we would happily recommend her to family/friends and anyone who'll listen!!
