At Tylers we believe our dedication and enthusiasm for property is the main reason we're so successful. We don't just see four walls and a roof, we see a story. We love finding out about the history of a place, to discover how people have used it in the past and what they plan to do with it in the future. Buying and selling a home is an important emotional as well as financial commitment, which is why we go the extra mile for you.

We've been in business for a quarter of a century and have a significant number of clients who are so impressed with our service, they come back time and time again. We're in business for the long haul, which means we not only want you to be confident enough to recommend us to friends and family, we aim to be your only port of call next time you need an estate agent.

With well over 100 years combined experience of selling and letting Cambridge property we fully appreciate the needs of the house buying and selling public.

We place a premium on experience in the property market coupled with enthusiasm, a desire to succeed and every member of our team has an absolute passion for property.

By linking knowledge and commitment with training, industry recognised qualifications and the latest marketing methods we feel that our sales team, and therefore the Tylers service, stand head and shoulders above the competition.

We remain utterly perplexed as to how anybody can, without qualifications training or guidance, trade as an estate agent.

The stakes are high and anything less than the best advice from knowledgable professionals can have serious consequences.

At Tylers we believe in allowing our clients to make an informed choice as to the estate agent representing them, we absolutely frown upon those who exert pressure on potential or existing clients and are proud of the individual, friendly and professional way in which we conduct our business.

We are delighted to be recognised as one of the leading and most respected estate agents in the Cambridge area. Achieving this recognition has taken time and we would be delighted to have the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your requirements and offer advice on your proposed move.

All advice is offered without charge or obligation; an experienced member of our team can visit at a convenient time to understand your needs and allow you to make an informed choice.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

The Cambridge Housing Market - both sales and lettings - remains as buoyant as ever regardless of the damp and windy weather this winter. It has always been the way, of course, although the last 12 months have seen some truly spectacular rises.

That unique combination of University City of international renown, centre of high-tech excellence and buoyant employment market has always ensured that our housing market weathers international economic storms far better than most. And as we start to climb out from the recession the international community seems to be focussing on our City, bringing investment and a highly skilled workforce.Sales are still astonishingly strong with the city most in demand - nothing seems to change - whilst Lettings continue to move from strength to strength with a seemingly never-ending supply of top-quality tenants and investors keen on bricks and mortar over more volatile investment vehicles.

When other investments are wobbling it seems rational to invest in property and the Guided Busway has now focussed attention on the villages between Cambridge and St Ives, too. With property values surprisingly realistic and a steady stream of available tenants, wise investors are now looking closely just outside the City as well as the more traditional inner city locations.

Yet the need for a quality professional agent is still high, although our remit has moved from simply finding a buyer or tenant to now finding the best buyer or tenant after a period of intense and widespread promotion.

Experience has shown that whilst extensive marketing over a reasonable period is more onerous for the agent it usually results in a substantially higher sale price. At the end of the day, levels of service and sales monitoring are important aspects of our business, but our main objective is to do the best for our client and achieving the highest price is a fairly fundamental part of it!

I stumbled into agency in 1983. I'd been at college in London studying Biology and Chemistry and after just a year decided that academia was not for me - I needed to work with people in a service industry and estate agency seemed ideal. Within days in my new work I was hooked; out and about, gently steering the public through the moving process with experience, integrity and going that extra mile. And not a lot has changed after three decades!

Founded in 1988 by Michael Tyler and Keith Norman, Tylers has expanded from two village branches with four staff to three strategically positioned shops with a team of 20, we've embraced the Lettings discipline and become a limited company.

I've worked at branches in Sawston, Bar Hill, Mill Road, Regent Street and Willingham and am currently based in Histon; my knowledge of the area is therefore quite considerable. Several friends have work that takes them around the globe and that makes me ever so slightly envious. But more of that later...

Marketing has changed, too. No more black and white photos, photocopied details and massive mail outs. We've embraced new technologies and harnessed their power to good effect. Instead of buyers queuing outside the office in the morning we have an inbox full of messages! But service beyond expectation is still at our core and honesty a fundamental principal.

Spare time is always in short supply when you love your work but spending time with my wife and two grown up sons is special. We all love travel and adventure but watching a good film together or sharing a great meal is also hard to beat.

I started my Estate Agency career back in 1985 as a Saturday Assistant working for a small independent firm of Estate Agents in Regent Street, Cambridge. I have worked for a few companies in the last 30 odd years, based in offices in Regent Street, Huntingdon, Newmarket, Great Shelford, Histon and now Willingham, I started at the bottom of the ladder and worked my way up.

I am a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and The Guild of Professional Estate Agents.

Moving home can be both exciting and sometime stressful. This is where experience counts ! We see buyers and sellers at the outer most extremities of their personalities. The delight when it's all gone through and the despair when it all goes wrong. At these times and all throughout the process we are here to offer a guiding hand, advice or even just to be there to talk to.

I still get my greatest buzz when a client says "thank you so much - we couldn't have done this without you" and I see them walk away happy.

Out of work, I love nothing more than spending time with my wonderful wife and daughters.

My involvement in residential property investment began just prior to sitting my A-level exams! On my 18th birthday I received an inheritance from a long deceased grandparent and followed my mothers' advice to acquire a property in Cambridge (prices were a mere fraction of those of today!).

Having greatly enjoyed leading and participating in the refurbishment of this super Victorian house I rented rooms to friends to generate income and, with a mortgage this time, repeated the process!

By the time of completing the second renovation I was utterly hooked on property and began my career in residential property sales in one of Cambridge's well known firms as an office junior.

With a years' experience and a growing passion for the industry I moved to a larger corporate organisation and progressed from accompanying viewings to valuing and directly negotiating for my clients giving a true feeling of satisfaction that I really was helping them and making a difference, changing their view of this unpopular industry!

It was a chance meeting in a sandwich shop with my colleague of old, my now co-director Alistair Brown, which brought me to Tylers. With Tylers I have witnessed the introduction of property sales and lettings computer software along with marketing websites and exponential growth in both interest in the industry and capital values of Cambridge homes.

Tylers gave a fantastic working environment and with a growing personal lettings portfolio I was privileged to have the offer of a full partnership and the responsibility of starting the lettings side of the business!

There has to be a life outside of work and I'm delighted to be married with three amazing children and an active lifestyle with running, cycling and skiing giving an exhilarating life away from property.

I started work in 1982 as an office junior at one of the largest estate agencies in Cambridge and quickly realised that the variety of the work and the satisfaction of a successful sale was for me.

Moving to another local company a few years later I worked in a variety of local offices around Cambridge, until in 1990 I received the call from Michael Tyler asking me to join his fledgling company and have been here ever since.

Even though there have been many changes and advances in marketing, I do believe the public always like a familiar face and at Tylers this is guaranteed with staff continuity a vital factor in our continued success.

Outside of work the dreaded golf is my passion, enjoyable, sociable but truly frustrating !

Having studied in Bristol and achieving a degree in Housing and Development I returned to Cambridge in 1997 and shortly after joined Tylers learning the ropes alongside Michael Tyler.

I have since worked with both the city and village offices I then became a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents while developing skills in marketing and sales making the most of my wealth of local knowledge I like to think the business has grown as I have matured which now places me as Sales Manager with a passion for expanding the client base while overseeing the continuing development of the business and staff.

Outside of work is family time with two young sons, football, road and mountain biking, films, music and the odd glass of wine taking up just about every spare minute.

I was born into a military family, and we travelled around the world so I have lived in more houses then you could count on three hands.

I decided to finally settle in the Cambridge area where I have family in the surrounding villages. Because of all the moving around I did when I was growing up I have always had a fascination with houses, I always remember car journeys I would be looking at different houses just wondering what they must all look like on the inside and what I would do differently if I lived there. So you could say I was always bound to do something with houses.

Starting my estate agent career early in 2014, some would say I couldn't ask for a better time to join. The market in Cambridge was at an all-time high and houses were selling incredibly fast.

The way the market was when I joined I think helped greatly in me settling in to the job quickly and having to learn and think on my toes. I always would need to thank the staff here for really helping me progress and trade.

I'm a very social person so always need to be with friends or family! Getting back to the military part of my life it really helped me travel the world, one of my favourite things to do is getting to go somewhere I have never been before and exploring or trying something new. I am always up for something that can challenge me.

    Sophie Jeffery - Sales Administrator
After graduating from the University of Bedfordshire in 2013, I decided it was probably time to return home to Cambridgeshire and get a proper job!

I love coming in to work every day and preparing details on such a wide range of properties and there's nothing better than seeing the smiles on people's faces when they collect the keys for their new home.

Although I'm the newest member of Team Tylers I'm very much looking forward to the future as it is such a brilliant place to work with a great team of people who truly have a passion for homes.

I'm very lucky to have such a brilliant bunch of family and friends and spending time with them is my main focus away from the office. I'm equally as happy to relax with a cup of tea or a glass of wine (depending on the time) and a good book, or switch on a musical and sing along.

I also love to travel and aim to visit all of the major countries of Europe by the time I'm thirty. I've still got a good few years left yet so watch this space...
