When you’ve got less than three seconds to impress a potential buyer*, first impressions count! Put yourself in the shoes of potential buyers and think about how you can make your property stand out from the competition.

Here are a few simple tips, that our research shows, generate the most interest and enquiries in your property; minimising the time your property spends on the market and maximise your chance of securing the best price:

Picture: The main photo on the site is a big hook so make sure you’ve picked the best shot. For external shots try to have them taken on a sunny day or if you have a flat our research shows that a picture of the kitchen performs much better than external ones.
Features: Sell with words. Make the plus points really stand out; if it’s a commuter’s dream then say so, tell them how close the station is. Or maybe you’re selling a family home in the catchment area of a popular local school. Let potential buyers know your properties best features.
Update: Buyers are quick to dismiss property adverts they have seen before. Changing the pictures and / or re-writing the description can be really effective at stopping regular home hunters in their tracks and getting them to look again at your property.

Overall your aim is for viewers to be able to visualise living there, so the more of a blanket canvas you create, the easier it will be to spark the imagination of potential buyers.
