Most of the sales in Cumbria over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £125,315. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £167,931 and detached properties averaged at £294,398.
Cumbria, with an overall average price of £183,158, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Greater Manchester (£184,970), but was more expensive than Lancashire (£161,166) and Merseyside (£163,183). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Grasmere (£564,961) and the cheapest was Moor Row (£71,277).
In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and 5% up on 2008 when they averaged at £173,827.
