Most of the sales in Cumbria over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £122,624. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £159,724 and detached properties averaged at £266,511.
Cumbria, with an overall average price of £170,761, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Greater Manchester (£163,872), but was more expensive than Lancashire (£151,730) and Merseyside (£152,896). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Hawkshead (£877,595) and the cheapest was Millom (£94,775).
In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and similar to 2008 when they averaged at £171,987.
