Most of the sales in Cumbria over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £125,378. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £167,259 and detached properties averaged at £281,902.
Cumbria, with an overall average price of £177,098, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Greater Manchester (£172,094), but was more expensive than Lancashire (£154,428) and Merseyside (£155,254). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Grasmere (£373,939) and the cheapest was Maryport (£98,463).
In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and similar to 2008 when they averaged at £173,773.
