Most of the sales in Cumbria over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £123,242. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £160,947 and detached properties averaged at £265,379.
Cumbria, with an overall average price of £171,241, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Greater Manchester (£163,485), but was more expensive than Lancashire (£151,845) and Merseyside (£150,972). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Grasmere (£483,750) and the cheapest was Maryport (£95,224).
In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and similar to 2008 when they averaged at £171,923.
