Most of the sales in Cumbria over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £123,100. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £159,665 and detached properties averaged at £266,977.
Cumbria, with an overall average price of £171,390, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Greater Manchester (£163,477), but was more expensive than Lancashire (£151,646) and Merseyside (£152,500). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Hawkshead (£462,500) and the cheapest was Millom (£92,687).
In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and similar to 2008 when they averaged at £171,923.
