Leicestershire, with an overall average price of £182,433, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Northamptonshire (£189,217), but was more expensive than Nottinghamshire (£152,555) and cheaper than Rutland (£276,422). The most expensive area within Leicestershire was Swithland (£719,000) and the cheapest was Aylestone (£124,287).
In the past year house prices in Leicestershire were 3% up on the year before and similar to 2007 when they averaged at £180,368.
