House Prices in North East

Last year most property sales in North East involved terraced properties which sold for on average £110,496. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £133,290, while detached properties fetched £229,966.

North East, with an overall average price of £141,658 was cheaper than nearby North West (£156,136), Yorkshire and the Humber (£157,301) and East Midlands (£160,767). The priciest area within North East was Northumberland (£168,275) and the least expensive was County Durham (£129,870).

During the last year, sold prices in North East were 3% up on the previous year and 4% down on 2010 when the average house price was £146,901.
