House Prices in South Wales

Most of the sales in South Wales over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £110,811. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £143,240 and detached properties averaged at £237,126.

South Wales, with an overall average price of £150,194, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby West Wales (£154,001) and North Wales (£154,619), but was cheaper than Mid Wales (£190,850). The most expensive area within South Wales was Monmouthshire (£217,681) and the cheapest was Blaenau Gwent (£82,359).

In the past year house prices in South Wales were similar to the year before and 3% down on 2007 when they averaged at £154,253.
