Most of the sales in West Sussex over the past year were detached properties which on average sold for £533,859. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £302,617 and flats averaged at £200,690.

West Sussex, with an overall average price of £352,335 was more expensive than nearby East Sussex (£325,478) and Hampshire (£306,565), but was cheaper than Surrey (£509,349). The most expensive area within West Sussex was Amberley (£780,707) and the cheapest was West Worthing (£253,711).

In the past year house prices in West Sussex were 8% up on the year before and 16% up on 2014 when they averaged at £302,944.
