Last year most property sales in Yorkshire and the Humber involved semi-detached properties which sold for on average £157,583. Terraced properties sold for an average price of £130,746, while detached properties fetched £280,551.
Yorkshire and the Humber, with an overall average price of £175,218, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby North West (£173,702), but was more expensive than North East (£154,957) and cheaper than East Midlands (£186,234). The priciest area within Yorkshire and the Humber was North Yorkshire (£218,381) and the least expensive was South Yorkshire (£153,231).
During the last year, sold prices in Yorkshire and the Humber were 5% up on the previous year and 8% up on 2010 when the average house price was £161,626.
