Most of the sales in Aberavon over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £71,388. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £97,497 and flats averaged at £66,571.

Aberavon, with an overall average price of £90,085 was more expensive than nearby Sandfields (£79,036) and Baglan Moors (£83,953), but was cheaper than Port Talbot (£100,829).

In the past year house prices in Aberavon were 5% up on the year before and 7% down on 2005 when they averaged at £96,758.
