Most of the sales in Brecon over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £138,424. Detached properties had an average sold price of £258,970 and semi-detached properties averaged at £173,846.
Brecon, with an overall average price of £180,799 was cheaper than nearby Brecon Beacons (£228,753), Crickhowell (£266,532) and Builth Wells (£194,732).
In the past year house prices in Brecon were 6% up on the year before and 4% down on 2008 when they averaged at £188,899.
