Most of the sales in East Sussex over the past year were flats which on average sold for £179,583. Detached properties had an average sold price of £374,940 and terraced properties averaged at £248,233.

East Sussex, with an overall average price of £262,269 was more expensive than nearby Kent (£248,975), but was cheaper than West Sussex (£277,803) and Surrey (£392,714). The most expensive area within East Sussex was Colemans Hatch (£720,000) and the cheapest was St Leonards Green (£139,301).

In the past year house prices in East Sussex were 5% up on the year before and similar to 2010 when they averaged at £260,409.
