Most of the sales in Hexham over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £209,422. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £196,714 and detached properties averaged at £321,523.

Hexham, with an overall average price of £217,938 was more expensive than nearby Haydon Bridge (£185,318), but was cheaper than Corbridge (£280,828) and Riding Mill (£397,500).

In the past year house prices in Hexham were similar to the year before and 12% down on 2008 when they averaged at £247,490.
