Most of the sales in Kendal over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £175,019. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £185,619 and flats averaged at £118,392.

Kendal, with an overall average price of £180,307 was cheaper than nearby Milnthorpe (£200,710), Bowness-On-Windermere (£332,077) and Windermere (£298,650).

In the past year house prices in Kendal were similar to the year before and 6% down on 2008 when they averaged at £191,980.
