Most of the sales in Leicestershire over the past year were detached properties which on average sold for £297,425. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £174,706 and terraced properties averaged at £146,051.
Leicestershire, with an overall average price of £203,572 was more expensive than nearby Nottinghamshire (£170,244), but was cheaper than Rutland (£285,263) and Northamptonshire (£217,810). The most expensive area within Leicestershire was Newtown Linford (£569,774) and the cheapest was Barwell (£139,942).
In the past year house prices in Leicestershire were 3% up on the year before and 13% up on 2007 when they averaged at £180,722.
