Last year most property sales in Longton involved detached properties which sold for on average £271,968. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £158,791, while terraced properties fetched £159,000.

Longton, with an overall average price of £211,097, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Hutton (£206,005), but was more expensive than New Longton (£200,033) and Much Hoole (£168,786).

During the last year, sold prices in Longton were 9% down on the previous year and 17% down on 2007 when the average house price was £253,423.
