Most of the sales in Manchester over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £119,255. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £161,176 and flats averaged at £125,389.

Manchester, with an overall average price of £144,231 was more expensive than nearby Hulme (£111,226), but was cheaper than Castlefield (£170,631) and Manchester City Centre (£151,717).

In the past year house prices in Manchester were similar to the year before and 5% down on 2007 when they averaged at £151,925.
