Most of the sales in Newham over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £233,563. Flats had an average sold price of £200,469 and semi-detached properties averaged at £253,486.
Newham, with an overall average price of £220,533 was more expensive than nearby Barking And Dagenham (£183,309), but was cheaper than Tower Hamlets (£356,201) and Havering (£252,582). The most expensive area within Newham was Silvertown (£269,172) and the cheapest was Old Town (£188,612).
In the past year house prices in Newham were similar to the year before and 10% down on 2008 when they averaged at £243,710.
