Most of the sales in Newport over the past year were detached properties which on average sold for £228,464. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £150,922 and terraced properties averaged at £152,045.

Newport, with an overall average price of £185,468, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Muxton (£183,220), but was more expensive than Telford And Wrekin (£154,587) and cheaper than Priorslee (£225,594).

In the past year house prices in Newport were 8% up on the year before and similar to 2008 when they averaged at £187,344.
