Last year most property sales in Somerset involved detached properties which sold for on average £320,062. Terraced properties sold for an average price of £188,145, while semi-detached properties fetched £203,931.

Somerset, with an overall average price of £228,204, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Wiltshire (£218,823), but was more expensive than Bristol (County) (£213,337) and cheaper than Dorset (£255,029). The priciest area within Somerset was Norton St. Philip (£441,000) and the least expensive was Highbridge (£132,671).

During the last year, sold prices in Somerset were 4% up on the previous year and similar to 2007 when the average house price was £228,724.
