Most of the sales in South Yorkshire over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £137,790. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £113,267 and detached properties averaged at £244,006.
South Yorkshire, with an overall average price of £153,231, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby East Riding Of Yorkshire (£156,894), but was cheaper than West Yorkshire (£169,339) and North Yorkshire (£218,381). The most expensive area within South Yorkshire was Bradfield (£491,500) and the cheapest was Askern (£79,619).
In the past year house prices in South Yorkshire were 4% up on the year before and 8% up on 2007 when they averaged at £141,561.
