Most of the sales in South Yorkshire over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £133,412. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £109,699 and detached properties averaged at £232,107.
South Yorkshire, with an overall average price of £147,930, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby East Riding Of Yorkshire (£151,930), but was cheaper than West Yorkshire (£160,879) and North Yorkshire (£208,074). The most expensive area within South Yorkshire was Dore (£362,587) and the cheapest was Askern (£78,532).
In the past year house prices in South Yorkshire were 4% up on the year before and 5% up on 2007 when they averaged at £141,376.
