Most of the sales in South Yorkshire over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £132,734. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £110,511 and detached properties averaged at £229,685.
South Yorkshire, with an overall average price of £147,445, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby East Riding Of Yorkshire (£151,145), but was cheaper than West Yorkshire (£160,875) and North Yorkshire (£207,006). The most expensive area within South Yorkshire was Dore (£366,960) and the cheapest was Edlington (£76,957).
In the past year house prices in South Yorkshire were 5% up on the year before and 4% up on 2007 when they averaged at £141,376.
