Last year most property sales in Sunderland involved semi-detached properties which sold for on average £138,298. Terraced properties sold for an average price of £107,597, while detached properties fetched £260,000.
Sunderland, with an overall average price of £137,111 was more expensive than nearby Barnes (£105,951), but was cheaper than Ashbrooke (£158,348) and Roker (£147,602).
During the last year, sold prices in Sunderland were similar to the previous year and 3% up on 2010 when the average house price was £132,681.
