Most of the sales in Thornaby over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £111,354. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £78,405 and flats averaged at £66,446.
Thornaby, with an overall average price of £98,103 was cheaper than nearby Linthorpe (£129,841), Ingleby Barwick (£198,692) and Hartburn (£168,786).
In the past year house prices in Thornaby were 7% down on the year before and 17% down on 2007 when they averaged at £118,227.
